Privacy Policy
Effective 13 October 2026
In short
- Your project files are private to your account. Other users never see them.
- We use your data to run PlanGent for you, not for advertising, and we never sell it.
- Pattern learning is your choice: anonymized patterns only, never your files, names, prices or quantities.
- The AI provider we use does not train its models on your data under its commercial terms.
- You can download, correct or delete your data at any time.
Construction documents are commercially sensitive. This policy explains what PlanGent collects, why, who processes it and the choices you have. It applies to the PlanGent website and app.
The controller of your personal information is the operator of PlanGent, Ahmed Saher Raafat Elkhoreibi, an individual based in Cairo, Egypt. Contact: privacy@plangentai.com.
1. Information we collect
Information you give us
- Account details: name, email address and, if you sign in with a password, a securely hashed password. If you sign in with Google, Microsoft or LinkedIn, we receive your name, email address and profile picture from that provider.
- Project content: the files you upload (BOQs, drawings, models, contracts, project rules) and your messages to PlanGent.
- Email sent to a project's address: if you use a project's email address, we keep the sender, subject, date, text and attachments of the emails you send or forward there, as part of that project. Mail from addresses you have not allowed is refused; we keep only its sender and subject so you can see it was refused.
- LinkedIn posting: if you connect LinkedIn for posting, we keep an access token (encrypted) and your LinkedIn member id, and we post only the posts you approve. You can disconnect at any time in Settings.
- Outputs: the programs, workbooks and reports PlanGent produces for you.
- Access requests and support: the name, email and company you give when you request access or contact us, and what you write to us.
- Payment details: when paid plans start, payments are handled by a payment provider. We receive confirmation of payment, not your full card number.
Information collected automatically
- Usage: credits used, the actions PlanGent performs and the time they take, so we can bill fairly and improve the Service.
- Technical data: IP address, browser and device type, and error logs, used to keep the Service secure and working.
- Cookies: only the cookies needed to keep you signed in. See the Cookie Policy.
2. How we use information
- To provide the Service: read your documents, ask you questions, build and check your program, and keep your projects.
- To manage your account, credits and billing, and to answer support requests.
- To keep PlanGent secure: detect abuse, prevent fraud and investigate incidents.
- If you allow it, to learn anonymized planning patterns that improve recommendations for you and other users. Patterns are stripped of file contents, project and client names, prices and quantities before they are kept.
- To tell you about changes to the Service or these policies. We send marketing email only if you ask for it.
3. Legal bases
Where data protection law requires a legal basis (for example Egypt’s Personal Data Protection Law, the GDPR in the EU and UK, and Saudi Arabia’s PDPL), we rely on: performing our contract with you (running the Service); our legitimate interests (security, fraud prevention, improving the Service), balanced against your rights; your consent (pattern learning and any optional email), which you can withdraw at any time; and legal obligations (tax and accounting records).
5. AI processing
PlanGent sends the parts of your project needed for each step to the AI model provider listed on the Subprocessors page. Under that provider’s commercial terms, data sent through its API is not used to train its models. Your documents are not used to train any AI model that serves other customers. See the AI Disclosure.
6. How long we keep information
- Projects, files and outputs: while your account is open, or until you delete them.
- After you close your account: deleted within 30 days, except backups, which roll off within a further 30 days.
- Billing records: as long as tax law requires.
- Anonymized patterns: kept, because they no longer identify you, your client or your project.
7. Security
Files are kept in private storage, every database record is restricted to its owner, connections are encrypted, and downloads use short-lived links. More detail is on our Security page. No system is perfectly secure; if we learn of a breach that affects you, we will tell you without undue delay.
8. International transfers
Our database and file storage are in the European Union (Frankfurt). Some providers, including the AI model provider, may process data in other countries. Where the law requires it, we rely on safeguards such as standard contractual clauses.
9. Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or download your personal information, to object to or restrict some processing, and to withdraw consent. You can:
- Delete projects and files in the app.
- Switch pattern learning on or off in your settings.
- Write to privacy@plangentai.com for a copy of your data, a correction or account deletion. We answer within 30 days.
You also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.
10. Children
PlanGent is a professional tool for adults. It is not meant for anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect their information.
11. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy in a meaningful way, we will tell you by email or in the app before the change takes effect. The date at the top shows the latest version.
